Black Queer Radical (BQR) is an affordable advertising medium that reaches the black, queer community. We provide news and commentary relevant to the lives and experiences of those in the black, queer community, their progressive friends and their supporters. Stories and commentary on queer, black culture, politics, the arts, media and activism are featured daily.

Our favorable rates allow you to effectively target this segment of the black and queer communities without breaking your advertising budget.

BQR offers several opportunities to tap into the black, queer population, including interactive banners, featured events and email newsletters.

We market our content through social media such as Facebook, Myspace, Youtube. We also utilize print and electronic community networking to maximize exposure for our advertising partners.

Interactive Banners

Banner advertising is offered at a weekly, bi-weekly, monthly and quarterly rate. Advertising positions are static, but may be placed into a continuous rotating loop. Your ad should link to a primary site, not a third party site. Banner ad positions include (pixel width x pixel height):

Get your advertising messages delivered directly to the email inbox of BQR subscribers through our weekly newsletter. Our newsletter delivers a variety of the week’s top stories and photo galleries every Thursday morning to a continuously growing audience. Newsletter sponsorships are offered at a flat rate and do not rotate. Your ad will link to your website. Ad positions include:

Ad Restrictions

All banners should be less than 100k in size

Requests to change banner will be met within 24 hours.

Banners can be changed no more than once per week.
No frontal nudity or explicit sex are to be displayed on banners. Must be G-Rated.
No audio is allowed on banners unless it is activated by a mouse rollover or a click.

Most ads can be launched on the site immediately once payment has been received.

Advertising rates are updated on the 1st and 15th of every month at 8am.

Please select the type of ad you would like below. Type in your Company Name, Email and Website in the text box. Make note of the price of the Ad unit you select as you will be required to fill in the amount when you are redirected to PayPal.

Once your payment is received BQR will contact you via email the same day to find out the duration of the ad campaign, your website, retrieve your ad file and resolve any other questions or issues you may have regarding your purchase.
