American Apparel Releases New Gay Tees
Los Angeles based American Apparel has launched its Library Series T-Shirt collection featuring two pro-gay tees.

“American Apparel has found a new passion for exploring the depths of library archives. We plan to bring our favorite images to you in the form of the Library Series T-Shirt collection,” according to the official website.
The first shirt, entitled Pair at Gay Parade, features a pair of men marching down Santa Monica Blvd in the West Hollywood Gay Pride Parade, 1984. The image was taken by Mike Sergieff, part of the Herald Examiner Collection.
The second shirt, Anti-Homophobe Rally, shows Protestors outside an Anaheim hotel in 1989, holding signs to silently demonstrate their opposition to homophobia. The photo was taken by Chou Ching Yeh, also part of the Herald Examiner Collection.
American Apparel first introduced “Legalize Gay” t-shirts following the passing of Proposition 8 last November in California and has been a vocal supporter of LGBT rights since.

“With many of our employees and customers identifying as gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered, we are a company that is vocal about our support for the protection and advancement of gay rights, and we hope that the rest of our fifty states take the necessary steps toward equal rights for all, and legalize same-sex marriage.”
The new T-shirts are available on American Apparel's website and in stores for $30.
