Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” Single Released Today

(Oct. 12) Michael Jackson’s new single, “This Is It,” was posted on the late pop star’s website at midnight this morning.  The song features backup vocals from the singer’s brothers.

The single will be followed by a two disc album with the same title on Oct. 26. 

The first disc features a number of Jackson’s greatest hits, arranged in the order he performs them in the film “Michael Jackson’s This Is It.”  The second disc contains previously unreleased versions of Jackson’s classic recording.

The documentary film chronicling Jackson’s preparation for his “This Is It” tour is scheduled for release on Oct. 28 and is scheduled to run for only two weeks.

According to Jackson’s publicist, the song will be played at the close of the film.

Jackson suffered sudden cardiac arrest on June 25 and died soon after.
