Soul Train Awards Return with Co-Hosts Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard after Year Hiatus

(Oct. 8) Actors Taraji P. Henson, star of Tyler Perry’s “I Can Do Bad All By Myself” and critically acclaimed “Hustle and Flow,” and Terrence Howard, star of Dito Montiels “Fighting” and Academy Award winning “Crash,” will co-host the 2009 Soul Train Awards’ Show, premiering November 29th at 9pm simulcast on BET and BET NETWORK’s new channel CENTRIC (formally BET J).
With Donald “Don” Cornelius’ illness and Soul Train distributor Tribune Entertainment terminating operations in the wake of the sale of Tribune Company to Sam Zell the 2008 Soul Train Awards were not held.

The legacy of soul music and artist who paved the way for today’s artist will be celebrated during the special. Soul Train’s most memorable moments and performances from today’s hottest Hip-Hop and R&B artists will be featured throughout the show.
"We are pleased to re-launch the iconic Soul Train Awards," said Kenard Gibbs, Co-CEO of Soul Train Holdings. "[We] are prepared to bring it back with the same energy, passion, and excitement that became the hallmark of the brand throughout its 38 year history."
The show will be taped at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia on November 3rd.
