Usher Discusses Divorce with “Papers,” Stalls Actually Signing

(Oct. 8) Usher has reportedly been stalling his divorce from Tameka Foster by not signing the official documents, delaying the monetary settlement reached last month.

"The terms and conditions have been agreed on for around a month but [Usher] keeps stalling on them, and [Tameka Foster’s] the one that wants to move on with her life," a source told RadarOnline.com.

On Monday, the singer released his first single “Papers,” from his upcoming album Raymond vs. Raymond, detailing his contentious marriage to Foster and voicing his eagerness to sign the divorce documents.

“Tameka thinks that it’s ironic that ‘Papers’ is his comeback single when she just wants him to sign the paperwork and finalize the divorce,” a source close to Foster said.

The song portrays Usher as the victim of a selfish and unsympathetic partner.

"I ain't afraid to say I got needs / Tired of sleeping in the other room."

Also, the song confirms rumors of a rift developing between Usher and his mother after his marriage to Foster and firing her as his manager.

"I done damn near lost my mama / I done been through so much drama / I done turned into the man I never thought I'd be / I'm ready to sign them papers."

Usher applied for divorce in June.  As part of the ugly split, Usher had demanded a DNA test to determine whether he was the biological father of son Naviyd Usher.

Usher is no stranger to crooning about break-ups.

Usher’s fourth album, Confessions, detailed the highly publicized break-up between him and TLC’s Chili and went on to sell over 10 million copies.

Usher’s sixth album, Raymond vs. Raymond is slated for release on December 8th.
