Chiefs RB Larry Johnson Suspended Two Weeks over Faggot Comment

Larry Johnson receives two weeks suspension, without pay for Week 10, after calling a fan a fag on his Twitter account Sunday night and less than 24 hours later telling reporters in the Chief’s locker room to “get their faggot asses out of here.”
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell issued the punishment Wednesday night, which amounts to a one-game suspension, citing conduct detrimental to the team under the NFL Personal Conduct Policy.
The Chiefs are on their bye week and will not play again until traveling to Jacksonville for a Nov 8 game against the Jaguars.
“We respect the decision of Commissioner Goodell,” said Carl Peterson, president of the Kansas City Chiefs. “The NFL Player Conduct Policy sets forth a set of standards that all NFL players, coaches and staff members must abide by.”
Johnson’s agent, Peter Schaffer, plans on appealing the suspension and would like an independent arbitrator to review the incident, according to NFL Network.
“This punishment doesn’t fit the action,” Schaffer said. "We disagree that the Chiefs' proposed penalty is warranted by Larry's actions."
Until the Chiefs increased Johnson’s punishment from simply being barred from team activities to being suspended, he was listed on the team’s roster and would have received his weekly checks. Johnson stands to lose about $660,000 in total compensation over the next two weeks while suspended.
Johnson’s comments came several hours after the Chiefs (1-6) lost 37-7 at home to the Chargers.
