Award-winning, multi-platinum recording artist and actress, Monica will premiere her new docu-drama on BET Tuesday at 10 PM following the BET Hip-Hop Awards Show.

The show takes a look at Monica’s day-to-day world in the new series and gives viewers a chance to vicariously experience her life as she balances family, deals with her own body and health challenges, creates her fifth album while being a full-time mother of two young sons.

“It was very scary stepping into the type of situation that would expose me and my life,” said Monica. “But I think that there are so many kids now that are aspiring to do exactly what I’ve done and I felt like that was worth me putting myself on the line so they would really understand what it’s like to try and juggle both a music career and personal life.”

Monica

Monica emerged on the R&B scene in the 1990s and saw success in the mid-to-late 1990s.

Following the success of her debut album Miss Thang (1995), which produced four singles and made her the youngest recording act to ever have two consecutive chart-topping hits on the U.S. Billboard Hot R&B Singles chart, Monica would release her second album The Boy Is Mine (1998).  Her career began to decline in the early 2000s after dealing with the loss of a loved one.

Monica went on a brief hiatus from her music career after the suicide of her boyfriend Jarvis “Knot” Weems, a local drug dealer and childhood friend.  She also had issues with her former finance Corey “C-Murder” Miller.  Monica has since refreshed her relationship with Rodney "Rocko" Hill, Jr., whom she has two boys with.

With her new show Monica believes that she can show viewers and fans that anything is possible and "sometimes you have to go through to get to."
