Wanda Sykes Plugs New HBO Special on Jay Leno Show
Actress and Comedian Wanda Sykes appeared on The Jay Leno Show Wednesday night to promote her new HBO comedy special, "I’ma Be Me."
Despite the informal boycott from ABC and CBS stars, Wanda Sykes sat done with Jay Leno and talked about her new twin babies, her wife, the economy, Roman Polanski and legalizing marijuana to help save the budget of debt ridden California.
Sykes voiced her disapproval of Governor Schwarzenegger’s plan to legalize marijuana.
"How many pot heads do you know with a to-do list?" Sykes asked.
Sykes also gave her opinion on the state of the economy.”
"The economy is bad Jay. Illegals are complaining that Americans are taking their jobs...I saw a white man mowing his own lawn."
Sykes special features material from her national “I’ma Be Me” tour where she takes on topics such the irony of the U.S. electing a black president when the country went broke, her disappointment of Proposition 8 passing, the increasingly common “broke dick” commercials on TV, coming out, being a new mom, healthcare town halls, working as an entertainer on a gay cruise and much more.
The special airs on HBO this Saturday, October 10th at 10pm ET/PT.
Also, Sykes will also be joining the ranks of comedians Mo’Nique and George Lopez with the launch of her own weekly late night show on FOX. The series premieres on Saturday, Novemeber 7th.
Every Saturday The Wanda Sykes Show will feature Syke’s personal take on the events of the week. Everything from news, politics, sports and pop culture will be examined from Sykes unique point of view.
