Mo’Nique Show Premiered Monday Night on BET
Gerard Guillory warmed up the audience and encouraged them to celebrate the new “queen of late night talk.”
Mo’Nique made her way down a set of stairs in a tight black dress with red lips imposed on her right butt check, dancing her way to the stage.
With a “Welcome to Atlanta” theme, sidekick comic Rodney Perryintroduced Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin as the first guest. Franklin presented Mo’Nique with a “Phoenix” award, a symbol of renewal and invincibility that symbolizes Atlanta’s recovery from its fiery destruction by General W. T. Sherman in 1864.
Mo’Nique’s first sit-down guest was comedian Steve Harvey, who recently relocated to Atlanta. They reminisced about their friendship and careers in comedy.
Her other sit-down guest, Atlanta-based R&B sensation, Monica promoted her upcoming reality show.
R&B singer Jeremih hit the big stage at the end of the show while Mo’Nique grooved to the younger crooner hit “I’m a Star.”
